    We made three separate visits to the Discharge Lounge at Princess Royal University Hospital where we engaged with 91 patients, carers and family members. We also spoke with members of the Discharge Team and, in addition, collected further feedback from the public at our engagement hubs in the borough.

    We carried out a research project to assess the consistency and accuracy of GP out-of-hours answerphone messages, website information and complaint procedures across the London Borough of Bromley. We carried out a comprehensive review of all public facing information provided by the borough’s 45 GP practices.

    This report explores young people's attitudes and experiences toward sexual health and healthy relationships, in the hope that it would raise awareness around the services that are available, the laws around sex and healthy teenage relationships. This report documents the findings of the research, which took place from December 2016 to February 2017.

    We held an event to raise awareness of Self Care Week and the importance of self-care and the self-management of health conditions. The event included four separate workshops focussing on particular self care issues: diabetes, eye care, respiratory diseases and mental health.

    The purpose of this Enter & View visit was to engage with patients and staff about their experience of Green Parks House and to gather their views. This included how involved people feel in planning their care, the ward environment, relationships between staff and patients and whether people feel safe.

    We conducted an Enter & View visit to engage with tenants of the Extra Care Schemes to understand their experience of the service and provide them with the opportunity to voice their opinions regarding the care that they receive and the environment in which they live. We engaged with 65 tenants and 37 staff members.

    We visited 5 food banks across the boroughs of Bromley and Lewisham. We interviewed residents about their experiences of accessing health and social care services and the circumstances which has caused them to access community services in the borough. The community providers of food banks were also engaged, regarding information around numbers and their front line experiences.

    We set out to speak to gain a wider understanding and appreciation of the young people of Bromley’s attitude toward mental health and in the hope that it would raise awareness around the services that are available. A total of 350 young people aged 10-17 took part in our engagement.

    Healthwatch Bromley and Lewisham launched a research project focusing on attitudes toward mental health and service access in the London Borough of Bromley. A total of 133 responses were accumulated.

    The purpose of the Self-Care Week event was to raise awareness of the Self Care week and importance of self-care, to encourage stakeholders to take part in the campaign and to encourage self-care to their service users, to promote our achievements in supporting patients in self-care so far.

    This report was composed to give insight into the patient experience and use of local pharmacies in the London Borough of Bromley. The research focused on the following areas: dispensing, promotion of public health and healthy lifestyles, signposting to other services and patient feedback.

    We embarked upon a research project specifically focusing on GP Access and the patient experience, which took place from November 2014 - March 2015. The report details information regarding booking systems in local GP practices and a snapshot of local people’s experiences and concerns. This report hopes to point out areas of success in the current system and suggest areas where improvements are needed.

    Healthwatch from Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham carried out Enter & View visits to assess how supported patient's felt by the staff and how comfortable they felt in their surroundings. We observed Princess Royal University Hospital, Queen Elizabeth and Lewisham Hospitals’ Maternity Departments, and Darent Valley Hospital’s Maternity Department.

    In December 2013, we initiated a small scale research programme to engage with parents who attended Bromley’s Children and Family Centres (CFCs) and learn more about their experiences of using local health and social care services. 374 people responded to our surveys across the six CFCs.

    A patient experience report with 600 reviews collected this quarter about the health and social care services in the London Borough of Bromley, covering the period from July-September. We found that 422 (70%) were positive with star rating 4-5, 31 (5%) neutral with star rating 3 and 147 (25%) negative with star rating 1-2.

    A statutory function of Healthwatch Bromley is to provide information and signposting to residents on health and social care services. Based on our intelligence we identified diabetes as one area of focus for our work.

    The Cancer Information and Support Survey was a local project run by Healthwatch Bromley. The project aimed to identify and understand trends in the support needs of people, and their loved ones, living with or beyond different types of cancer.

    On 12th July 2022, Healthwatch Bromley visited Antokol Care Home, a residential care home established in 1951 to care for elderly Polish refugees. Originally located in Beckenham, it was relocated to Chislehurst. Antokol provides housing and care for up to 36 residents, including 21 individuals with dementia and six with additional long-term conditions.
