King’s Improvement Science Is Looking For Patient And Public Members

King’s Improvement Science (KIS) is looking for input from people with experience using health and social care services in south-east London or caring for someone who does. KIS is based at King’s College London and researches how improvement to health services takes place.

They are looking for three people to join their steering group. As well as these three public members, the group will be made up of representatives from their funders, King’s Health Partners, King’s Improvement Science staff, and staff from the local NHS trusts. You will be paid for your time and supported by two patient and public involvement coordinators who have experience using various health and social care services.

The aim of the steering group is to help make decisions about KIS research projects: what areas we research and how within our broad goal of researching improvement to health and social care services in south-east London. This will be guided by their funders, but they want people with personal experience involved as early in this process as possible so that the work they do is relevant to the people who use these services. Everyone who applies can also learn about other opportunities to get involved with carrying out the research work planned by the steering group.

The next steering group meeting is on March 8. The deadline for applying is midnight on February 13, and there will be a brief, informal interview with shortlisted applicants on Wednesday, February 23, with questions provided in advance.

There will also be an open q&a session with the PPI co-ordinators, Len Demetriou and Rachel Rowan Olive, on Monday, February 7, from 12-1 pm

Feel free to contact Len and Rachel at kis_involvement@kcl.ac.uk with any questions.

Details on how to attend are in the role description. More information is in the “news” section of the KIS website, and a full role description and application forms are downloadable here
