MSK conditions affect the joints, bones and muscles and they also include autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (#MSK)

NHS organisations are working together across south east London to improve the patient journey for people with MSK conditions and have formed the south east London MSK Programme.

Community MSK Lived Experience Group

They are reviewing MSK services in south east London and would like to work with people with lived experiences of MSK conditions to inform this work. They have therefore created a community MSK lived experience group;

Who can be involved? Any adult that has had experience of MSK conditions, this might be as a patient, carer or family member.

What does this group involve? Meeting virtually every two months for one hour on Microsoft Teams, there might also be an opportunity to be involved in other focus groups or surveys.

Please join our Community MSK Lived Experience Group.

If you would like to find out more or are interested in being part of this group, please contact selccg.engagement@nhs.net(External link)

Decision making boards

They have two MSK boards in south east London. They would like these groups to include lived experience members and they are therefore recruiting for members of the board.

Firstly, they have created a south east London MSK programme board, this will be a group of people that meet four times a year to monitor the progress of the MSK programme. As a member of the programme board you will be asked to report back to the community MSK lived experience group and to feed in agreed issues from the group to the MSK board.

Secondly, in Lambeth and Southwark they are piloting a self-management app called getUbetter and an online pain management programme called Leva. We have a project board that overlooks the delivery of the getUbetter and Leva pilot. The role of the community member is to contribute to the project board that meets every four to six weeks, to understand and challenge the progress of the project and provide opinion to progress the project and design further engagement.

If you are interested, please see further information in the member roles to the right of this page. You can apply using the online application form below, if you are unable to use this form, please contact selccg.engagement@nhs.net(External link) Applications for expressions of interest will close on Friday 1 July for the getUbetter and Leva pilot and Friday 8 July for the south east London MSK Programme board.
