Cancer Information and Support Survey – Healthwatch Bromley

Share your experience about your local cancer health and care services by completing a survey so that we can help to improve these services.

Healthwatch Bromley is your local health and social care champion, working to enable the voices of people who live and work in Bromley to shape and improve local health and care services. We are currently asking people living with or beyond cancer, their families, friends and unpaid carers, to tell us about their experience of cancer information and support services by completing a survey. 

Whether you've had a good or bad experience, we can use your feedback to improve services to everyone. We have the power to make the NHS leaders and others care providers listen to what you have to say. We're completely independent and impartial and anything you say is anonymised.

Every September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

Blood cancer happens when blood cells do not develop properly.
The most common blood cancers are:

But there are also other blood cancers called:
myelodysplasia (MDS)
myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs).
Understanding blood cancer can help to know more about how the blood and blood cells work.

How to help

You can register as a potential stem cell donor with the charity DKMS. You can help someone with blood cancer find a stem cell match - and perhaps save a life.

DKMS is an international nonprofit organisation dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders by creating awareness, recruiting bone marrow donors to provide a second chance at life, raising funds to match donor registration costs, and supporting the improvement of blood cancer therapies through research.

Cancer Information and Support Services (Infographics)

The Cancer Information and Support Survey was a local project run by Healthwatch Bromley from March to June 2022. The project aimed to identify and understand trends in the support needs of people, and their loved ones, living with or beyond different types of cancer.

We designed an infographic that illustrates ratings of cancer support across three cancer groups and the preferred location for a new cancer information and support centre.
